Massage and caretaking for horses
I involve myself in caring for horses out of love, respect, and an ancient karmic need to give back to them for all they have done for us.
Currently located in the San Francisco Bay Area, I begin each bodywork session with assessing and gathering information on the horse's condition, as well as listening to the horse's communications and asking for their permission to engage. I then provide a variety of massage, body, and energy work techniques. Benefits of regular equine bodywork include alleviation of stress and improving overall immune function, clearing of subtle imbalances caused by compensation patterns, improving elasticity in movement and helping to prevent injury, balancing emotions, increasing proprioception leading to greater confidence.
I also provide caretaking for horses on properties where horses are allowed choice, natural herd engagement, and high standards of care. My services include daily basics of feeding, watering, mucking, grooming; holding horses for farrier and vet visits; careful monitoring of horse’s health and application of basic first aid when necessary; barn, property, and ranch maintenance and organization; caring for any other animals on a property.
My training as a horsewoman includes two-and-a-half years as a working student with Agi Yother of Bodies in Motion located in the wider San Francisco Bay Area. And, a five month equestrian arts mentorship residency with Fabi Vlchek of the Swift Wind Herd Equestrian Arts Academy located in Hawaii.
